After touring kiyomizu-dera, we took the bus (highly recommend getting the all day pass) to the Gion district. We stopped by the Yasaka shrine and walked around a little bit before wandering around the Gion district. The buildings were all made of wood. I kept thinking about "Memoirs of a Geisha" movie when I was walking around Gion. No geisha or maiko sighting though. I think we were too early. I loved getting lost along the small streets. I just wished we had more time to explore Kyoto.
