My first meal in Kyoto was a bento lunch. After, getting off the train and walking to our hotel, I was tired and quite hungry. Thankfully, there was a restaurant literally beside our hotel. I didn't want to search far so we went there for lunch. The bento was perfect for me as I got to sample different dishes all together.
The second photo was the best tonkatsu (breaded deep fried pork cutlet) I ever had in Japan or ever! I don't know if I was just starving but in any case, it was perfect! The rice was great and the salad with sesame dressing was delicious! It was the best lunch! I still dream about it sometimes...
I also got to try street food bbq outside of Fushima Inari shrine.Quite a strategic location after walking and hiking up the shrine. You can smell the bbq wafting through the air. I couldn't resist but to try it.
This post is GLORIOUS. Love Japanese food so much.
ReplyDeleteA vegan friend of mine had a hard time in Japan, tho, cos she didn't have a lot of options daw.
I can imagine and also it's hard to order because of the language barrier. Thank god for pictures and replicas, otherwise, I would not survive in Japan.
DeleteAh, everything looks super delicious! I'd love to get my hands on those dishes!
