This is the golden reward at the end of the hike! The world famous Golden Gate Bridge. It's stunning of course so I overdosed in snapping pictures.

I truly enjoyed walking from my hotel near Union Square to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a very very long walk/hike but the view was truly worth it along the way.
It took almost three of leisurely walking to get to the bottom of the bridge. The experience was truly amazing! I loved walking around the park and taking pictures as I go. Once I saw the ocean, I finally felt like I was in California!

California dreaming
May 23, 2011
Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I have been recuperating from my cold/cough, being really busy at work, socializing, doctor appointments, and catching up on sleep.
Now, back to SF...
I spent a lot of time just walking around the city to really get a feel of each neighbourhood. I got to see some really beautiful buildings and houses. Have a look..

San Francisco: Ghirardelli Chocolates
May 22, 2011
No visit to San Francisco would be complete without stopping by Ghirardelli Square. I have a sweet tooth and I could not pass this opportunity to horde chocolates back to Toronto. I bought a lot of gift packs to bring back to my family. I was really happy with all the flavours especially the hazelnut!
I did not have the chance to eat at the cafe but I must say I was really impressed with the service. All the staff inside the store were so friendly. I remember trying to take photos and I was approached by one of the staff member and he asked me if I had any questions, we ended up talking about chocolates and how they make them for a long time. It was really fun and informative. Never been to a store with such happy staffs!
San Francisco
May 19, 2011
My first trip to the West Coast and I was lucky enough to visit San Francisco. A friend of mine has been raving about it and now I know why. The city is very relaxed and everyone was very friendly.
I walked around the city a lot and climbed a lot of hills to keep me fit for the rest of the year. The weather was perfect for strolling around, it was sunny but windy. I walked all the way to Lombard Street from my hotel. It was interesting to see the "crookedest" street. I wish I had a car to drive around, I would probably hit everything and skid down the hill but it would be fun.
Next up, I went to Fisherman's Wharf. As much as I wanted to love this area of the city I just could not. It was too touristy for me and it reminded of Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls but I did enjoy Pier 39. I loved the sea lions. They were so cute!

I just got back from San Francisco! I'm so exhausted but very happy! The weather was fantastic. I completely fell in love but the hills were almost the death of me. More to come soon..
Grand Palace
May 13, 2011
This is the Grand Palace. It's stunning but I still prefer the other buildings inside the compound. I especially love the temples! You really need to spend a full day walking around because the complex has a lot of different buildings. It was such a hot day and I was wearing jeans because of the dress code that they have is strictly enforced. I should have worn a long skirt but I didn't have time to shop.
I only spent a couple of days in Bangkok because the humidity was killing me. I had to escape to the beaches so I had about 3 days to visit all the temples and main attractions. I'm sure I probably missed a million more but next time I will come prepared to conquer Bangkok and the heat!
It is such a vibrant city that I felt too overwhelmed at times. The people are really kind and the food is so amazing!
Murals

Beautiful murals inside the Grand Palace! It's amazing how it's still in mint condition after all these years. Whoever painted these murals took a lot of time perfecting each tiny details.
